 Carey James Kriz

Executive Director

Carey is the Chairman of First Medicine Global Holdings LLC, which leads the growth of the non-US operations of First Medicine, including in the markets of Asia, the Middle East and Europe. His career spans fundamental research and development in computer technologies, medicine and clinical services through tenures at IBM, to Johns Hopkins and in support of a range of start-ups. Carey was the founder/designer of Johns Hopkins International, among other ventures. Carey studied a combination of Economics and Computer Science at the University of Rochester and the University of Maryland/College Park. Carey is a US citizen but splits his time between the US, UK, MENA, Central Europe and Asia. 

 

Dr. Rajnikant (Raj) Shah, MD MBA FACC FACP

Global Medical Director

Dr. Raj Shah is a practicing cardiologist, philanthropist and entrepreneur based in Philadelphia. educated at the University of Pennsylvania and an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine on the Temple and Drexel University faculties. He is pioneer in the field of telemedicine and the creator of SmartCareDoc telemedicine system which was deployed at “The Clinic at Wal-Mart” in 2012-14: The first telemedicine clinic in retail store in America. He established TeleRetinopathy screening program at the Temple University Health System in 2016 and a teaching Teleclinic at the School of Nursing at Rutgers University.  He is also a Research Fellow at the Blanche and Irwin Lerner Center at Rutgers University for the study of Pharmaceutical Management and Healthcare and lectures about Telemedicine. He is member of the Advisory Board of Kean University College of Business and Public Management and Global Business School, Trustee of S.M. Shah Law College and Sarvajanik School in India.

Dr. Shah is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT angiography. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the American College of Physicians. He received his medical degree with distinction from the M.S. University in Baroda, India, and graduate training in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shah received a Master of Business Administration with Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma honors in 1997.

 

Dr. Andrew Parkes

Founding Director of Global Development

Andrew is a physician and healthcare and technology strategist whose career has spanned a large part of the healthcare sector, including the public sector and the private sector and across a variety of countries. After a decade in clinical practice he joined the Australia Federal health system where he rose in the ranks to General Manager, responsible for information management, data analytics, electronic claiming and security, and healthcare strategy. He then embarked on a consulting career initially in the US and then internationally for various funding organizations such as the World Bank as well as a number of international government departments and agencies. He has led teams and provided advice in over 20 countries on various national healthcare issues, such as health financing, healthcare master planning, electronic claims management, data analysis, pharmaceutical policy, workflow optimization and fraud control. His accomplishments include the introduction of the first national government public key infrastructure program in healthcare in Australia, the introduction of a national health electronic claims management system in the Middle East, several health sector master plans and health insurance schemes throughout the world.

 

Dr Miodrag Stefanović

Director, Balkan Region

Miodrag is a  Medical Doctor and Master of Public Health from Columbia University NY, with over 15 years of international experience in many aspects of healthcare design and delivery, including clinical care, management of complex health care facilities, public health, health financing, health system performance assessment and the preparation of standards and certification of health care institutions for ISO 9001 standardization. 

He has worked on internationally funded development projects in a number of countries around the world, with a recent focus on capacity building in the Balkan region and the training of health professionals in the field of public health and health policy and management.

Dr. Naiyer Imam, MD MSc

Naiyer is President and CEO of the First Medicine Corporation, and is responsible for the company's direction, including forming strategic relationships and acquisitions. A pioneer in the field of telemedicine, he served as Chairman and Founder of American Teleradiology, which merged with Nighthawk and went public in 2006 (NSDQ: NHWK). He holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Brown, as well as an MD from Brown and an MS in Biostatistics from Harvard. Naiyer is resident in the US and divides his time between the US and the First FM support and development center in India.

Vas is a serial healthcare entrepreneur, having started a diagnostic services company, Clarity Radiology, advised medtech and eHealth companies in South and South East Asia. He was the co founder of Singapore based digital health company, MyDoc in 2012. Dr Metupalle obtained an MBBS from King’s College London. He has also got an eMBA from Nanyang Business School. His focus is on technology driven productivity improvements in the provider space and bringing wider value based care platform, while working with payors and corporates.
